StoryDrive

storydriveG.A.M.E. is a co-partner of the international media conference StoryDrive, which takes place at the Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) where various cross-media businesses from the book, film and games industries can meet under the header “Storytelling & Story Selling.” The program includes workshops, case studies and seminars on topics such as finance, story development and story commercialization. Leading companies in the different sectors provide insights into their business models and discuss the basis for commercial success beyond the individual industry sectors.

The highlight is the StoryDrive Business Center, the first marketplace for cross-media licenses. Here, companies and rights owners can negotiate inter-sector business partnerships and joint ventures. Inspired by the Frankfurt StoryDrive, G.A.M.E. will create a similar marketplace at Quo Vadis in 2012.

G-STAR

gstarG-STAR in Busan, Korea, is one of the biggest game conference in Asia, and the ICON conference that takes place at the same time facilitates the exchange of expertise between developers and publishers. In 2011, G.A.M.E. and Berlin Partner sent a delegation to ICON/G-STAR, which was open to all G.A.M.E. members, to present Germany as an attractive location for developers, and to support its members in their Asian marketing strategy by encouraging close networking between the German and Asian games industry and arranging targeted contacts. To do this, the German Games Industry Association organized appointments with representatives from the Korean games industry that were targeted to the interests of all those involved as well as a special networking dinner during the trade fair.
